Carla M. Collado
Associate

Carla M. Collado joined Olmstead Williams Communications after nearly three years as a reporter for Gazette Newspapers in Long Beach, Calif. While at the Gazettes, she covered everything from education, city government and local commission meetings to community events and nonprofits. Collado has been a production intern for the KPCC show “Weekend America,” interned for the Web and news departments at WBUR in Boston, worked as an editorial assistant at the Boston Herald and freelanced for the Norwood Bulletin, a weekly newspaper just outside of Boston. At Carnegie Mellon University, Collado was part of a four-student team that spent a month living and working in Rome, interviewing local business owners and elderly residents, among others, about the history of the city’s Esquiline hill. The stories were later incorporated into a large mural that is currently installed at a La Sapienza University lecture hall. Collado is originally from Puerto Rico but grew up in a military family and moved frequently throughout the East Coast. She graduated from Boston University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in Italian. She is fluent in Spanish and Italian.
