*4 interpretation technology will help in emergencies

Language Line Services, a Monterey-based language interpretation company, has just released a service in conjunction with AT&T that can help individuals save lives, reports NBC Bay Area. The program already helps interpret calls for police stations and hospital officials, but now it is going mobile, and will be available to the public.
By just pressing *4, a call will be routed to a Language Line Services interpreter somewhere around the globe, and the call is then interpreted. The company currently interprets 20 million calls annually, and expects that number to skyrocket with the new mobile service.
