First Data CEO Frank Bisignano touts Oberthur on CNBC’s ‘Squawk Box’

“It’s [Oberthur] an interesting company, one that has 6.2 million merchants and 700 million-plus credit cards,” said First Data CEO Frank Bisignano on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.” “We [First Data] sit at the nexus of all networks and 4,000 financial institutions. So for us, it’s very important to be a collaborator.”
Oberthur is the U.S. leader in EMV technology and trusted by over 2,000 financial institutions, including many of the world’s largest banks. The company has completed 250-plus migrations from magstripe to EMV chip cards worldwide and produced more than 500 million EMV cards.
