Cloudworks, one of the pioneers in the cloud computing industry, has partnered with Maryland-based Ongoing Operations to offer cloud-based hosted IT solutions for credit unions, including virtual desktops, application hosting and hosted Microsoft Exchange servers.

The partnership provides credit unions, regional banks and other financial services institutions a new suite of IT offerings designed to reduce total ownership costs, including costly upgrades to Exchange 2010, and allows them to pay predictable monthly service fees instead of large capital expenditures. A number of credit union service organizations (CUSOs) and credit unions are already in the implementation stage.
