Entrepreneurs – This Is An Opportunity for You. | eNews from OWC

The deadline is March 6 to take part in one of the most prestigious business competitions and networking opportunities in Los Angeles – EY’s Entrepreneur Of The Year®. Since 1986, Ernst & Young has recognized leaders who demonstrate extraordinary success in areas such as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment.

Awards are a vital component to the success of a company’s overall communications plan. The caliber of EY recognition raises awareness among media and the thriving Los Angeles business community. As the proud PR partner for the competition, OWC has delivered powerful media coverage for winners as well as nominees for the past decade.

Entrepreneurs who participate reap rewards before and after the gala ceremony. Many don’t win on their first nomination but successfully persist, recognizing the benefit of relationships with other highly successful, high-growth companies in their communities.

Our client, TaskUs, was nominated twice before co-founders Bryce Maddock and Jaspar Weir won the Greater Los Angeles regional award in 2017. By continuing to compete, they met fellow entrepreneurs who later became their own customers and vendors. When the regional win propelled them to the national level their network grew larger still, expanding the world of thought leaders and opportunity. Since winning top honors in 2019, Maddock and Weir have been vocal about the personal and professional benefits of the EY program. See Jaspar tell FOX 11’s Christine Devine about winning the national title here.

Here are the top five reasons to compete:

  1. Accreditation: Becoming a semifinalist, finalist or winner helps to validate your company with investors, customers and current and prospective employees.
  2. Exposure: Awards can help introduce you to new customers, M&A opportunities and private equity or venture capital investors.
  3. Recognition: Awards celebrate business leaders and publicly recognize the contributions of the team, thus enhancing employee morale.
  4. Mentoring: Continued education and networking opportunities exist with peers to accelerated growth.
  5. Public relations: Awards provide a fast-track to being spotlighted by the media to promote a company’s mission and increase brand awareness.

We encourage every business to self-nominate, or to put forward a client or business leaders worthy of recognition. Not in Los Angeles? There are programs in 145 cities and 60 countries around the world. Find their programs here. Submit a nomination before March 6, 2020. Say what got you to where you are today, and why, and where you’re headed. That analysis is critical for every business. Our business is helping you do it.
