Cloudworks, a Thousand Oaks, CA-based provider of cloud services to small- and medium-sized businesses, and Ongoing Operations LLC, a Hagerstown, MD-headquartered specialist in business continuity solutions for credit unions, said that they had opened new data centers in Arizona and Maryland to provide cloud-based IT solutions to financial services clients.
“The financial services industry has approached the cloud computing revolution cautiously because of its strict regulatory and security standards and unparalleled billions of dollars in transactions, but that is now changing because of advances Cloudworks is helping drive in partnership with a leading industry provider,” said Mike Eaton, Cloudworks founder and chief executive.
Officials said that the Arizona data center already is online and the Maryland center will follow before June, 2011.
