Forty students, faculty, and parents from iQ Academy, an online school serving elementary to high school students, came together at Adventist Health Glendale on Dec. 19 for a day of giving and community service.
The students assembled 100 care packages for oncology nurses and patients. The hospital provided refreshments as participants packed and decorated festive goody bags and stockings filled with candy, chocolate bars, stocking stuffers and handwritten holiday cards.
The students and families handed out gift bags to nurses and patients throughout the hospital, spreading holiday cheer and gratitude.
The event, returning after a four-year hiatus due to the pandemic, was inspired by personal stories from the iQ Academy community, highlighting the strength of oncology patients and the compassion of the nurses who care for them.
For a virtual school where most interactions occur online, the gathering provided a meaningful opportunity for students and families to connect in person.
