A Newark student is turning her passion for learning into global success.
10-year-old Norah Lopez-Nair has taken her love for science and history from her virtual classroom at California Virtual Academies (CAVA) to international competitions. After winning silver and bronze medals at the International Environmental Science Olympiad in Puerto Rico, she’s now preparing for the International History Olympiad in Paris this summer.
Norah’s journey began when she won her regional Science Bee at just nine years old, earning a spot at the National Science Bee. Encouraged by her teachers, she also took on history competitions, placing third in the regional History Bee and qualifying for nationals in Orlando.
