Cairns Health’s Luna Spotlighted in Citeline’s CES Roundup

Luna Digital Care Companion

Cairns Health digital care companion for seniors, called Luna, named Runner-Up by the Consumer Technology Association Pitch Competition at CES 2026 and now available direct-to-consumer, aims to help older adults live independently and support daily routines.

Andrew Ritter, CEO of Cairns Health, explained that Luna is different from other digital care companions because it uses radar technology to detect vital signs such as heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood oxygen level, along with sleep stages and movements, giving caregivers a holistic view of the physiological health of the person.

“So when you get up in the morning, we can see you moving in the bed and about to come out of bed, the radar can see that motion, it’ll then trigger a ‘Good morning, Marion, how you are you feeling today,’” Ritter demonstrated. That assessment can then be sent to a caregiver or the clinical team. Luna is already being used in four senior living communities nationwide and is going to be investigated for use with Alzheimer’s patients at Indiana University and for sleep apnea detection at the Mayo Clinic, Ritter said.
