Cubic Motion took its first step in transforming the digital entertainment industry with its digital humans technology platform. Cubic Motion’s goal was to attract new partners, investors, entertainment industry executives and customers with its the real-time facial performance of a digital human personality, codenamed “Siren,” which was created to demonstrate at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco.
To gain visibility in a crowded market like GDC, OWC leveraged Cubic Motion’s impressive business partners to highlight its position in the industry, which included Epic Games, 3Lateral, Vicon and Tencent, some of the biggest names in gaming.
Being one piece of technology in a larger booth comes with challenges. OWC had to be creative in promoting its demonstration, such as infiltrating keynote addresses to talk with media, sneak attacks with media watching the demos at the booth and going to competitor booths to capture media interest.
OWC kept the momentum alive post-conference with creative pitch angles that tied to pop culture and current events, such as Stephen Spielberg’s “Ready Player One” movie.
OWC created compelling content from GDC and shared it real-time through social media. Videos of the demonstration, media coverage and photos of the crowds at the Cubic Motion booth helped capture the excitement and show why game developers needed Cubic Motion technology.

In-depth feature stories of Cubic Motion ran on Business Insider (and its syndicated sites) and VRFocus, garnering awareness with two target audiences Cubic Motion identified as most desired; mainstream business and entertainment technology.

Cubic Motion was included in coverage of digital humans by top-tier entertainment and business outlets such as MSN, Rolling Stone, VentureBeat, Engadget and Fortune.

OWC established Cubic Motion as a thought leader in facial animation by securing a keynote spot at TEDxManhattanBeach in Los Angeles.

New business opportunities have developed as a direct result of this initiative with one of the top 6 movie studios, as well as one of the top video game properties in the industry.
