Language Line granted injunction by federal judge

The Monterey County Herald
A Monterey-based interpretation and translation company has won a preliminary injunction against two men accused of taking confidential information to another company.
Language Line Services filed the suit against Patrick Curtin and William Schwartz, who worked for the company in Buffalo, N.Y.
Curtin, who was with Language Line from August 2007 to August 2008, later worked for Philadelphia-based Language Services Associates. The suit accuses Curtin of recruiting Schwartz away from Language Line in February of this year, and says Schwartz brought trade secrets and customer lists with him. Both men live in Buffalo.
The injunction, signed by federal Judge James Ware in San Jose, prohibits the defendants from using or disseminating information at issue in the suit. The judge also appointed a special master to oversee the case.
Language Line has more than 5,000 employees worldwide, with annual sales of more than $300 million.
