EMV chip cards, which have gained in popularity since the Target breach because of their additional security, will change how you pay. But, it’s still easy and you’ll get used to it quickly, says Philip Andreae of Oberthur Technologies in an interview with NerdWallet.
“Just follow the prompts on the terminal; they will tell you when to insert the card and when to remove it,” Andreae says.
Oberthur is the U.S. leader in EMV and has successfully led more than 250 banks through the shift from traditional magstripe cards. The company delivered more than 300 million EMV cards on all continents in 2013.
