OCMETRO features FlexEnergy in annual Green Team roster

The FlexEnergy Powerstation™ is the only complete clean energy solution that runs directly on weakmethane at 1.5% the strength of natural gas.

Every year, OCMETRO comes out with Green Team, a roster of large and small companies that are making our world a cleaner, greener place for us and for future generations. This year, newcomer Irvine-based FlexEnergy made the list. Read below to see how they are making a difference.
Methane gas is one of the most harmful polluters to our atmosphere, and FlexEnergy has found a way to clean this up while producing green electricity.
Going green is the mantra of the 21st century, and FlexEnergy has developed a revolutionary way to obtain power.

While traditional electrical power stations require fuel to operate, FlexEnergy has developed a series of stations that can run on methane gas obtained from landfills, wastewater treatment facilities and other venues. It creates the world’s cleanest power, and there is nothing like it on the market.

The company got its start through investment funding from SAIL Venture Partners and RNS Capital Partners. In 2009, FlexEnergy had just 10 employees. Today, it has more than 80. In addition to the local headquarters, FlexEnergy has large manufacturing and service facilities in New Hampshire and North Carolina. Its first commercial customer was the U.S. Department of Defense.

“FlexEnergy will allow landfills to generate the power we need while efficiently removing a burden on the environment,” says CEO Joseph Perry. “Every landfill has this problem. Many have attempted to solve it, and Flex has found the solution.”
