CrowdOut Capital among Built in Austin’s 50 Startups to Watch

Now in its fourth year running, Built in Austin’s 50 Startups to Watch list highlights local tech companies less than five years old that are bracing for a big 2019. This year’s list includes startups with big ambitions for everything from improving mental health to leveraging emerging technologies like blockchain, robotics, quantum computing and more.

CrowdOut Capital hosts a lending platform that lets middle- and lower-market companies raise money. In November of last year, the fintech startup raised $2.5 million from members of its investor network who participate in their loans, as well as from its CEO and co-founder, Alexander Schoenbaum. Individuals interested in investing can put $1,000 or more directly into corporate loans ranging from $3 million to $50 million.

Saban Community Clinic’s Dr. David Luna featured on Becker’s ranking

Dr. David Luna, MD., CMO of L.A.-based Saban Community Clinic, just ranked among Becker’s Hospital Review’s 112 physician leaders of hospitals and health systems for 2018.

Dr. Luna’s passion for healthcare stems from his childhood in New Mexico, where he discovered poor populations and ethnic minority groups did not have adequate access to high-quality healthcare. As CMO of Saban Community Clinic, Dr. Luna oversees the medical team and clinical operations for the clinic’s three health centers, which serve more than 100,000 patients annually.

OWC wins PRism at the 54th Annual PRSA-Los Angeles Awards

OWC was awarded a PRism at the 54th Annual PRSA-LA Awards Gala last night. OWC won the award in the Events & Observances for Technology category for its work with Cubic Motion.

“This award builds team pride, and the people in our firm are creative, edgy and smart.  This award is their award,” said Tracy Williams, CEO and founder of OWC.

OWC won the Events & Observances for Technology PRism for its work with Cubic Motion to spotlight their latest technology through the real-time facial animation of a digital human personality, codenamed “Siren,” created by Epic Games, Cubic Motion, 3Lateral, Vicon and Tencent, at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco.
