The Great Courses goes digital, expands into cooking

Ask Dave Taylor walks fans of The Great Courses from The Teaching Company through how to watch the lectures on an iPad in a feature about the courses posted this week.
“Audio-only format is easy to work with in iTunes, of course, but the videos aren’t something you can just download and copy onto your iPad Mini as if it were a TV series,” Taylor says in the post. “Instead, you need to download and install The Great Courses iPad app.”
The Great Courses digital download, DVD and CD lectures span everything from better living topics such as photography and cooking, to business and finance – all taught by the best professors, chefs and more.
Taylor notes his interests generally run towards history and art history.
“The World’s Greatest Paintings, How to Look at and Understand Great Art, The Skeptic’s Guide to American History, but I’m also trying out a new style of course from The Teaching Company too: The Everyday Gourmet: Making Holiday Food Taste Great,” Taylor says.
