Weplay CEO talks food, youth sports and social media with KCET

Lane Soelberg, CEO of Weplay, talks about the youth sports social network site for children and their parents in an interview for KCET’s “Midnight Snack” at Holy Guacamole in Santa Monica, Calif. He describes his favorite burrito — al pastor — and his own fond memories of sports as a child, including how his site can help archive those memories for future generations.
“Go back 20 years ago to Ken Griffey, Jr. as a kid and then to 20 years later, back with the Mariners,” Soelberg says in the interview. “It’s going to be pretty cool to have that archive. Seeing a player as an 8, 9-year-old.”
